Eva Victor's NYFF 2026 Dress: Feathered Loewe Gown — Plus Kate Mara, Halle Bailey and Milena Smit on the Red Carpet
The 64th New York Film Festival's premieres brought four distinct red carpet statements this week, from a feathered Loewe return to a sister-dressing moment in Monse.

The 64th New York Film Festival has been running its own quieter red carpet alongside the fall premiere calendar, and this week's looks leaned toward texture and silhouette over competition-season spectacle. Four appearances stood out: a return to the carpet in feathers, a sister-dressing moment in matching tailoring, a festival debut, and a sheer, fringed gown that closed out the week.
Eva Victor wore a chocolate-brown Loewe gown with feather-like fringe embellishments down the bodice to the October 2 world premiere of Behemoth!, the festival's Centerpiece selection. The halter-neck gown left one shoulder bare and used the feathering as its only real embellishment, a quieter choice that matched the low-key return: Victor, who uses they/she pronouns, had been away from the red carpet for a stretch before this appearance.

Kate Mara wore a Monse Fall 2026 piece to the Bucking Fastard premiere, styled by Johnny Wujek: a strapless, sheer bustier top with floral embroidery, paired with low-rise black trousers and a loose, oversized matching jacket, rather than the fitted mini dresses she more often wears on the carpet. Her sister and co-star Rooney Mara coordinated in a dark, textured look from The Row for the same premiere, continuing the sister-dressing pattern the two have kept up across the film's festival run.

Halle Bailey wore a black one-shoulder gown from Alex Perry's Pre-Fall 2026 collection to The Debut premiere, her first appearance at the New York Film Festival. The gown used asymmetric jersey draping over a fitted, leather-look bodice, with a thigh-high slit and a single draped panel sweeping over one shoulder; she kept the rest simple, with strappy black heels and her hair worn loose.
Milena Smit closed out the week's looks on October 6 at the Bitter Christmas premiere at Alice Tully Hall, in a Valentino Resort 2027 gown: sheer, beaded organza layered under a fringed cape with an embroidered flower closure at the neck. The fringe and the sheer base gave it more movement than most of the week's other looks, which mostly stayed close to the body.

None of the four designers repeat from the week's other premieres, which is typical of NYFF's red carpet: without a single dominant campaign season or award at stake, stars and their stylists have more room to pick pieces for how they move and photograph at a premiere rather than for a competition. The festival's premieres continue through mid-October, with several more high-profile titles still to open.
